#UNIDIGADV Project

As I've stated in my very first post, this semester I’m taking a Digital Advertising class that asks me to take part in a semester-long social media engagement project, creating a personal brand through social media. I made this blog for the project and I'm using my personal brand statement, along with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google Analytics to see how much interest I can generate in beginner photo and video resources. As a reminder here's my personal brand statement:
MY PERSONAL BRAND STATEMENT: I’m an organized, amateur photographer and videographer interested in finding the best resources to use in my creative projects because I want to save time (and money) and produce awesome work!

I'm about halfway through the project now, and I thought I'd take some time to reflect and talk about how I think I'm doing and what I might change.
Reflection (3/14/14)- When I first started this project I was so excited to get started! After a general briefing of expectations and a quick crash course in Blogger, I immediately began generating ideas for posts that I thought others like me would enjoy.
Things to Change: At the beginning, I felt confident that my posts would be interesting and relevant for beginners and amateurs looking for some useful tips. However, I'm starting to feel like my topic is both too broad and too narrow. I chose to write about photography AND videography, mostly because I do both. But maybe that wasn't the best choice. I also am focused on writing for the beginner or intermediate individual that at least has general knowledge of digital cameras. Maybe I shouldn't have assumed that people are using DSLR cameras, or that they think of photography/videography as more than a hobby.
Making Progress: So keeping that in mind, I'm going to do my best to include more tutorial and how-to type content in my future posts. I'm also going to do a better job of alternating photo and video posts every week. I might start to post twice a week, with one new photo and video post, but we'll see how far I can really plan ahead for that. I'm going to try and make my posts more hobby-oriented as well, so the content will be less intimidating for readers that might not have a lot of experience working with DSLR cameras.
Stay Tuned: If you have comments/suggestions for what you'd like to see on my blog, please let me know! I'd greatly appreciate feedback and want to make sure that I'm helping provide the best photo and video resources that I can! Thanks for reading, and remember to stay creative!
